How it works

How does StudyBloom work?
Take a photo of a page, pick one from Photos, or paste some text. StudyBloom reads it and writes short, plain-language notes while you watch. Check they look right, then choose how to study: flashcards, a quiz that adapts as you go, a guided four-step lesson, or a chat with the tutor about that page.
Can I copy and paste instead of taking a photo?
Yes. Copy text or an image from anywhere (Notes, Safari, a PDF, a class website), then tap Paste under Start a session. Text goes straight to your notes. A copied image is read just like a photo.
What subjects can I study?
Any of them. StudyBloom works out the subject from your page (Math, Biology, Spanish, World History…) and files it with the rest of that subject. If it guesses wrong, change it and the whole set is rebuilt.
It couldn’t read my page. What now?
Try again with the page flat and in good light, and fill the frame with it. Very messy handwriting can be hard to read. If it still won’t work, paste the text instead.
How does the garden work?
Each subject is a plant that grows from sprout to flower to fruit as you earn xp. The weather follows your streak: clear skies while you keep studying, rain after two missed days. Rain never hurts your plants, and one short session brings the sun back. The garden also lives on your Home Screen as a widget.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. On iPad your subjects, notes and study session sit side by side, and the original photo stays visible while you study.

Apple Intelligence

Why does StudyBloom need Apple Intelligence?
StudyBloom uses Apple’s on-device language model, which is part of Apple Intelligence, to write your notes, flashcards, quiz questions and explanations. Because the model runs on your iPhone or iPad, your pages never need to be sent to a server.
Which devices does it work on?
Any iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, running iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. If your device isn’t supported, StudyBloom will tell you when you open it.
It says to turn on Apple Intelligence.
Open Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri and switch it on. The model then downloads in the background. Until it finishes, StudyBloom shows “still downloading”, so keep your device on Wi‑Fi and charging for a bit.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the model has downloaded, reading pages, generating study sets and chatting with the tutor all work without a connection.
What languages does it speak?
The app is in English and Spanish. Your notes and questions come back in the language your page is written in.

Privacy

Are my photos and notes uploaded anywhere?
No. Text is read from your photos on the device, and everything is generated on the device. Your photos, notes, answers and tutor chats stay on your iPhone or iPad and aren’t used to train anything.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s no sign-up and no email. Open the app and start.
Are there ads or tracking?
No ads and no tracking. StudyBloom is made for students aged 13–17 and we keep it that way.
How do I delete my data?
Delete any flashcard or quiz question you don’t want right where you see it. Because everything is stored on your device, deleting the app removes all of it.
